Mark

Founder, President and CEO

Over 30 years experience building class 2 & 3 medical devices. Lead R&D for Abbott, Heartware (now Medtronic), Boston Scientific and Guidant. As a C-suite executive, Mark has conceptualized, designed, built, tested, submitted and launched over 30 new class 2 & 3 medical device products. He holds a Masters of Engineering from the University of Minnesota, and Masters of Business from St. Thomas University.

John

VP Quality Assurance

Over 34 years of success in the medical device industry. A quality and regulatory leader with both domestic and global experience able to predictably achieve medical device clearances as well as assure compliance with global medical device regulations. Responsibilities include quality assurance, design assurance, regulatory compliance, clinical evaluations and management of audits and inspections for industry leading companies.

Steve

VP Regulatory and Clinical

Over 35 years experience and a leader in the Clinical and Regulatory space for large Strategic Medical device firms as well as start ups. He serves as an advisor to HFS. He has worked for Medtronic, Boston Scientific, St. Jude Medical, Guidant, and Spinal Modulation. He holds a Bachelors from University of Minnesota.

Nick

R&D Consultant

Over 40 years experience in the implantable cardiac space. He holds over 35 patents, and over 50 pending applications and publications. He has successfully lead many implantable programs to commercialization.

Alexandra

R&D Lead Engineer

Medical device R&D experience getting products to market and supporting existing products on the market with Francis Medical and 3M. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. 

Lauren

R&D Biomedical Engineer

Medical device R&D and manufacturing experience with AbbVie and Baxter. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 

Medical Advisors

Barry A. Borlaug, MD

Professor of Medicine, Mayo Clinic

Currently a Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Borlaug is particularly interested in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. He is currently pursuing several clinical studies examining which abnormalities contribute to functional limitation and symptoms of heart failure, as well as treatment studies for patients with heart failure. His publications number over 280, and Patents over 50.

Samuel Asirvatham, MD

Cardiologist and Developer

Currently a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases within the Department of Internal Medicine and a professor of pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology within the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at Mayo Clinic. He is a consultant in cardiac electrophysiology. He is also program director for the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship and director of strategic collaboration for the Center for Innovation at Mayo Clinic
